Description: Position Overview
A leading academic medical center in Georgia is seeking a fellowship-trained Critical Care Anesthesiologist with expertise in adult cardiac intensive care. This position offers the opportunity to practice high-acuity medicine in a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and Surgical ICU (SICU) while engaging in research, teaching, and program development within a nationally recognized academic department.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care in 18-bed CVICU and 12-bed SICU
- Manage complex post-cardiac surgery patients: CABG, valve procedures, adult congenital cases, post-heart transplant
- Utilize advanced support including ECMO, VAD, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Perform procedures such as central/arterial line placement, TEE (if trained), bronchoscopy, and advanced airway management
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to standardize perioperative cardiac critical care protocols
Academic & Teaching Opportunities
- Mentor anesthesiology residents, critical care fellows, and APPs
- Participate in didactics, case-based teaching, and simulation training
- Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives
Schedule & Lifestyle
- Week 1: 7 consecutive 12-hour ICU shifts (day or night)
- Week 2: Protected off week
- Weeks 3 & 4: OR coverage (M-F, 7a-5p) with additional OR shifts available for income
- Predictable downtime ensures work-life balance
Compensation & Benefits
- Minimum Base Salary: $520,000 (for cardiac trained) + incentive bonus
- $40,000 sign-on bonus + $10,000 relocation allowance
- 56 paid days off annually: 21 vacation, 12 sick, 10 CME, 13 holidays
- CME allowance: $5,000

Qualifications
Required:
- ABA Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine
Preferred:
- Cardiac Anesthesia fellowship or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in advanced TEE (preferred, not required)
- Experience in academic teaching/mentorship
