Description: Are you an OB/GYN physician searching for your next locum tenens opportunity? This position with one of VISTA's healthcare partners in Alabamamight be the perfect fit for you! Opportunity Highlights
Schedule: Weekend 24-hour call coverage, Friday 7:00 am through Monday 7:00 am. Scheduling flexibility available - provider may take weekend call only, can expand to include weekday call and clinic responsibilities, or full 24/7 schedule option available. Start date 4/1/2026 - Ongoing.
Job Setting: Hospital coverage with beeper call and 30-minute response time. Trauma Level 3, PEDS Level 1. 9 beds in department, 3-4 patient encounters per shift, average 1-2 deliveries/day.
Types of Cases: All inpatient/emergent OB/GYN call responsibilities including emergent C-sections and GYN surgeries. Required skills include low and high risk pregnancy, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds (Level I and II), amniocentesis, routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, low forceps, C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs), repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations, office/minor gynecology (IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP), and surgical gynecology (open, laparoscopic diagnostic/minor, and operative/major).
Credentialing: Estimated 45 days
Minimum Requirements
Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Eligible minimum, 3 years fellowship
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Licensure: Alabama state license, will consider IMLC
