Position: Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer / Manager


Description: GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


Provides leadership to all staff in area of responsibility. Responsible for all activities associated with operations, customers, staff, facilities, and financials in the location(s).


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership


Manages the selection and staffing process necessary to provide the appropriate number of qualified staff to ensure overall business objectives are met.
Directs and provides leadership for all of the administrative personnel, grounds maintenance, and funeral home staff to create and maintain the highest level of client satisfaction. Creates team synergy between funeral and sales staff so that service is seamless to the client families.
Develop and maintain a positive associate relations environment so that associates are motivated to strive for performance excellence.
Ensure that criteria for orienting and training new associates in all job categories in implemented and that there is ongoing coaching and assessment of the associates' progress and capabilities. Must act decisively to correct situations when associates are not meeting position requirements.
Provide a premier level of client satisfaction that will satisfy the needs of every client's family and support the values of our company. Provide a collaborative, productive workplace environment for growth and development that instills pride, a sense of ownership, and the challenge to associates to exceed customer expectations.
Build cooperation between sales and operations and all general support functions by promoting a team atmosphere through personal actions and keeping communication lines open.
Assists, where appropriate, in the development of sales counselors with the objective of developing a clear understanding that cooperation and respect are the core to both the company's success and the individual's success.


Business Development


Monitor and evaluate the operating results of each unit in the area of responsibility, and implement corrective actions where operating results do not meet planned expectations.
Responsible for achieving the location's annual financial and marketing goals.
Collaborates with sales management team to identify potential growth opportunities to increase market share and revenues.
Identify, implement, and continuously improve the internal business processes that impact customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
Observes and evaluates the competitive environment in the area of responsibility and communicates with appropriate regional management significant issues that could impact the business.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Education / Certification / License:


Associates Degree
State License or can transfer the license to Idaho (Funeral Director & Embalmer)


Experience:


High-level understanding of all competitors and the demographic patterns influencing location business and market share
In-depth knowledge of market environment and competitive pricing
Must understand how to analyze financial reports to determine actions necessary to maintain or improve the location's performance.
High level of compassion and integrity
Problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task and set priorities
