Description: Exciting Opportunity for Board-Certified OB Hospitalists! Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist Prestonsburg, KY Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Locum OB Hospitalist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional obstetric care in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. This position offers a unique chance to enhance coverage, support patient outcomes, and expand your professional experience in a collaborative environment. Be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in women's health, providing both inpatient and outpatient services, including deliveries and routine OB visits. What You'll Do: • Provide comprehensive OB hospitalist coverage, handling approximately 200 deliveries per year in a Level 2 NICU setting. • Manage unassigned and private OB patients, working with a team of employed OBs for backup during emergencies. • Conduct outpatient clinic visits for new and routine patients, contributing to both inpatient and outpatient care. • Collaborate closely with anesthesia providers for daily onsite coverage with 24/7 call responsibilities. • Support hospital initiatives to expand coverage and grow market share in women's health services. Required Skills: • Board-certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. • Valid medical license to practice in Kentucky. • Proven experience managing labor and delivery, prenatal, and postpartum care. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hospital setting. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interactions and team collaboration. Nice to Have Skills: • Familiarity with Level 2 NICU protocols. • Experience working with residency programs or in an academic environment. • Prior involvement in outpatient OB clinic settings. • Knowledge of MFM remote consult services through institutions like the University of Kentucky. Preferred Education and Experience: • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. • Minimum of 2 years of OB hospitalist or inpatient obstetric experience. • Current certification in ACLS and NRP. Other Requirements: • Must hold an active Kentucky medical license. • Ability to work the specified shift from December 31, 2025, for an expected ongoing assignment. • Reliable transportation and willingness to participate in hospital call schedules.
