Description: Teaching Assistant - Year 5 Location: Rubery, Birmingham, B45 Weekly Pay: ss460-ss500 Start Date: ASAP Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Hours: 8:00am - 3:30pm Contract: Long-Term Temp to Perm We are excited to support a welcoming, community-focused primary school in Rubery, Birmingham, in their search for a skilled Year 5 Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is perfect for someone confident in supporting pupils with SEND, delivering targeted interventions, and working closely with the class teacher to ensure every child achieves their potential. Responsibilities -
Provide in-class support within a Year 5 classroom alongside the class teacher -
Deliver targeted support for pupils with SEND, including small-group and 1:1 sessions -
Assist with intervention programmes to help close learning gaps -
Live mark pupils' work to provide immediate feedback and identify further support needs -
Support keep-up and catch-up sessions in the afternoons -
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school expectations -
Monitor and report on pupil progress to the teacher and SENCo Requirements -
Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent degree) -
Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Key Stage Two primary setting -
Experience supporting children with SEND, including those with EHCPs -
Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies -
Experience delivering small-group or 1:1 interventions -
Ability to live mark and adapt support in real time -
Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to learning support -
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and SENCo About the School -
