Description:
We have an immediate need for a locum Gastroenterology Physician to provide gastroenterology services for our veteran population at the Central Iowa VA Healthcare System located in Des Moines, IA. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the beauty where the Great Plaines intersect the Midwest.
Provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including the full range of colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures such as: Colonoscopy o Colonoscopy via colostomy o Colonoscopy w/biopsy(ies) o Colonoscopy w/ablation of tumor/polyp/lesion o Colonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique o Colonoscopy w/out biopsy o Colonoscopy w/ submucosal o Colonoscopy control of bleeding Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) o EGD diagnostic o EGD w/biopsy(ies) o EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps o EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique o EGD w/variceal banding o EGD control of bleeding Provide consultative services at the patient s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine and be Board Certified in accordance with American Board of Internal Medicine s Gastroenterology Standards. Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.
Inpatient/Phone Consult/Question Only Consultation: Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:00pm (excluding federal holidays). Scheduled procedures will be scheduled 8:00am 5:00pm
