Description: Job Title: Composite Laminator Location: Southampton Shifts: Early & Late Shifts Contract: Ongoing - Long-Term Opportunity Rates & Hours: Earlies: ss22.23 PAYE / ss30.56 UMB 06:00-14:15 (Mon-Thu), 06:00-12:00 (Fri) Lates: ss25.94 PAYE / ss35.66 UMB 14:15-22:30 (Mon-Thu), 12:00-18:00 (Fri) Due to the nature of the work, baseline security clearance and adherence to ITAR restrictions are required. Who we are & what's on offer We're looking for experienced Laminators (Lay Up Operator) to join a dynamic aerospace team working on the fabrication and assembly of aerostructure components using advanced composite materials. You'll be working in an automated cleanroom environment, applying manual laminating techniques to produce high-quality composite parts for aircraft. This skilled role demands precision, flexibility, and a strong team ethic. What you'll be doing As a Laminator (Lay Up Operator), your daily responsibilities will include: Lay-up of composite panels with a variety of materials to tight tolerances Following work instructions, specifications, and drawings accurately Participating in team efforts to meet production targets safely and on schedule Using Approved Operator (AO) stamp to approve your work when confident it meets specifications Completing work route cards to maintain full component traceability Collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams as needed Contributing to scrap reduction initiatives What you'll need to succeed You'll be a skilled operator with a disciplined approach, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Essential skills and experience include: Previous experience in composite laminating and detail manufacture Competency with composite materials such as carbon fibre and honeycomb core NVQ Level 3, time-served apprenticeship, or significant industry experience Strong dexterity and numeracy/literacy skills, confident reading technical documentation Strong health and safety awareness, excellent communication, a proactive attitude, commitment to ongoing training and flexibility, with reliable timekeeping.
