Description: Immunohematology Reference Laboratory Supervisor (IRL Lab Supervisor) Location: Las Vegas, NV Schedule: Primarily Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM, with some weekend and holiday coverage required Employment Type: Full-time, permanent, onsite Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Immunohematology Reference Laboratory Supervisor to lead a Reference Lab team in Las Vegas. This leadership role combines supervisory responsibilities with hands-on technical bench work in an immunohematology reference laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong transfusion services background, prior reference lab experience, and at least two years of supervisory experience. As a working supervisor, you will split your time between managing and mentoring a team of approximately 8 laboratory professionals and performing complex immunohematology testing and platelet manufacturing duties. Key Responsibilities Supervisory Duties (approx. 3 days/week):

Lead and manage daily operations of the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements -
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of 8 technical staff members, promoting professional development and maintaining high morale -
Coordinate staffing schedules, workload distribution, and performance evaluations -
Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, and instrument maintenance to ensure accurate and reliable test results -
Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinical teams to improve workflows and resolve operational challenges -
Manage compliance with health and safety regulations and lab policies -
Participate in budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control for the reference lab Technical Bench Work (approx. 2 days/week):

Perform complex immunohematology testing including antibody identification, crossmatching, and serologic investigations -
Execute platelet manufacturing processes with an emphasis on quality and regulatory compliance -
Troubleshoot and validate new testing methods and instrumentation -
Maintain detailed documentation of testing procedures and results -
Provide expert consultation to clinicians and transfusion services regarding test interpretation and problem resolution
