Position: Critical Care/ICU/PICU/NICU Physician Assistant |
Description: A leading healthcare system in New Jersey is currently seeking three Critical Care Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) to provide coverage to the Cardiac ICU.
About the Opportunity:
Setting: Combined Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Schedule: 3 nights per week (6 PM to 6 AM), with flexible scheduling options
Support Team: Medical Residents, consulting physicians, intensivists (day), and on-call surgeons
Patient Volume: 2 providers managing 24 patients
Responsibilities:
The Critical Care NP/PA will be responsible for:
Managing patients in critical care
Collaborating with Medical Residents, Intensivists, and Cardiologists
Handling admissions, writing scripts, and making medical recommendations
Maintaining communication with patients' Primary Care Physicians (PCPs)
Performing procedural tasks and maintaining ventilator management
Qualifications:
Master's degree required
Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
ACLS and BLS certification
Minimum 2 years of experience as a PA or NP
Experience in ventilation management and critical care
Procedural competency and a strong critical care background (CT surgery, surgical, or thoracic)
Excellent communication and computer skills
Desired Skills:
Experience in a hospital ICU setting
