Position: Orthopedics - Spine Physician Assistant |
Description: An established orthopedic practice in Columbia, SC is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their team. Work alongside a fellowship trained surgeon specializing in spine surgery and general orthopedics.
Responsibilities:
- Full-time permanent position
- Monday-Friday schedule
- Mix of clinic/OR/hospital rounding
- 6 weekends of call per year
- 90% spine surgery
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose conditions through physical examinations, medical imaging, and laboratory tests
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe medications and recommend non-surgical treatments such as physical therapy or rehabilitation
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Qualifications:
- South Carolina State License
- Knowledge of orthopedic surgery, treatments and terminology
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
