Schedule: Monday-Thursday 5am - 3pm Mandatory overtime on Fridays.
WELDER SUMMARY
The Welder is responsible for preparing materials, assembling components, and performing welding tasks according to engineered drawings to fabricate high-quality end products. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
WELDER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare materials for fabrication processes.
- Lay out and assemble components based on engineering drawings.
- Perform fabrication tasks, including cutting/threading pipe, thermal cutting, welding, grinding, assembly, painting, and packaging.
- Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to meet customer specifications.
- Maintain inventory of perishable items.
- Follow safe work practices and implement 5S housekeeping techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WELDER QUALIFICATIONS
- 6 months to 1 year of recent welding experience.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Preferred: Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid AWS D1.1 or ASME Section IX GMAW welding certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write basic correspondence and communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Proficiency with measurement tools.
- Pipe fitting and MIG welding to ASME code standards.
- TIG welding of thin-wall tubing
- Thermal cutting techniques
- Skilled with hand tools (e.g., wrenches, grinders, drills).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Forklift operation experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical prints and drawings.
- Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
- Must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
