Description: Job Title: Network Engineering Job Location: Lexington MA 02420 Onsite Requirements: CISCO, Juniper and Extreme Hardware Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and encryption devices such as TACLANEs SIEM tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, OpenNMS, Nagios) Job Description: Seeking a highly motivated network engineer to work within our team of scientists and engineers supporting a wide variety of projects. A successful candidate will provide expertise to set up and maintain system networks, including design, configuration, and security. Day to day activities include: Working with program managers to develop and design secure networks of various levels of complexity Creating and maintaining network diagrams Creating documentation for existing and new programs Providing input on the integration of new systems to the networks The position also requires monitoring the health and security of multiple networks. Must Have Skills: Proven ability to configure routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices such as TACLANEs, as well as network design and implementations Network Systems Analysis Optimization of Distribution Networks Cisco device and security administration SSH Server implementation, Host Based Firewall, Web Server System Auditing, Hardening and Firewall Configurations PaloAlto configuration Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds, OpenNMS, Nagios UDP Multicast and Unicast Prepare network diagrams using Microsoft Visio Inter-process Communications (TCP/IP, Thin Communications Layers, Publish/Subscribe Middleware, DDS) Troubleshoot and Resolve Complex Networking Issues Ability to communicate network security designs at a high level to program managers, sponsors, and developers Work enthusiastically in an team-oriented agile development process Switch efficiently between tasks across multiple simultaneous projects Employ good time management and organization skills to work independently Nice to Have Skills: NetApp and other storage device configurations and maintenance Palo Alto and other non-Cisco firewall configurations VMWare infrastructure knowledge and virtual machine creation and configurations Linux administration experience and Linux network configuration knowledge, as well tools such as nmap, tcpdump, Wireshark and other network tools specific to Linux. 3rd party and subcontract staffing agencies are not eligible for partnership on this position. 3rd party subcontractors need not apply. This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States, directly for an employer, without sponsorship now or anytime in the future. This client is a US Federal Government contractor and is legally required to hire US Citizens. US Citizens will only be considered for this role.
