Position: Director of Client Relations & Business Development |
Description: Our client, a precision aerospace manufacturer, has an immediate need for an experienced Director of Client Relations & Business Development, to join our winning team in Newport. Our candidate of choice will be responsible for leading the organization's efforts in expanding market presence, increasing revenue, and strengthening client relationships. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and business development initiatives that align with the organization's mission and values. You will also be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive internal and external marketing strategy aimed at increasing organizational revenue and profitability. You will be instrumental in upholding the mission and values of the organization while driving strategic growth initiatives and focus on building and enhancing the company's market position by identifying, developing, negotiating, and securing new business opportunities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: CLIENT MANAGEMENT: Relationship Management - Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure satisfaction. Address concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Build and maintain strong relationships through personalized communication. Conduct surveys or interviews to gather client feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement. Design and implement strategies to improve client loyalty. Track client retention metrics (e.g., churn rate, renewal rate). Report on retention performance and suggest improvements. Ensure smooth onboarding experiences for new clients. Provide training or resources to help clients maximize value. Work with product and support teams to enhance client experience. Advocate for client needs within the organization. Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships. Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs. Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Identify potential clients through market research, networking, and referrals. Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads. Initiate contact with prospects via calls, emails, or meetings. Present company offerings and tailor solutions to client needs. Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts. Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company goals. Set targets and KPIs for growth and expansion. Create compelling proposals, presentations, and pitch materials. Track business development activities and outcomes. Report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to leadership. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions. Negotiate terms and manage partner relationships. Present an image that mirrors that of the client. Perform other duties as assigned that may arise within operations, which are not explicitly listed above. Undertake special assignments or projects as directed by management to support organizational goals and operational efficiency. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years' experience in sales or marketing. BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or a 4-year technical degree in related discipline preferred. Strong understanding of precision manufacturing and CNC machining processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to compose, type and proof materials; establish priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally with both customers and internal teams Knowledgeable with ITAR, NIST and other government certifications AS9100 familiarity is a plus Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Effective decision-making abilities are necessary. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and the Internet. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. A professional appearance and telephone manner is essential. Ability to travel, including local travel as well as some out-of-the-area and overnight travel is required.
