SEN Teaching Assistant

Full-Time September 2025 Start ss90-ss105 per day (DOE)

A welcoming primary school in Sefton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. You'll provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil, helping them stay engaged, regulate their emotions, and build positive relationships throughout the school day.

• Delivering consistent, tailored 1:1 support for a child with ADHD and additional needs.

• Implementing effective behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.

• Encouraging focus, motivation, and positive learning behaviours.

• Adapting classwork to meet individual needs and learning targets.

• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external agencies to ensure joined-up support.

• Experience working with children with ADHD and challenging behaviour.

• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.

• A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to support pupil engagement.

• Resilience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships.

• Team Teach training (or similar) is an advantage, but not essential.

• A supportive and experienced SEN team.

• Ongoing training in behaviour management and SEN support.
