Description:
As a Medical Oncology Physician Assistant at Cook County Health and Hospital System, you'll be responsible for evaluating patients who do not have scheduled oncologist visits and addressing chemotherapy-related adverse events. You'll also handle walk-in assessments and provide coverage for providers on consult service by seeing their clinic patients. Your duties will include signing chemotherapy orders, modifying doses as directed, and refilling prescriptions. Additionally, you'll return patient calls escalated by clinic staff, order NGS testing under provider direction, and educate patients about chemotherapy and its potential toxicities. You will manage a patient load of up to 8-10 patients per day, collaborating closely with clinical pharmacists and other healthcare providers. |
