Position: Anesthesiology Physician


Description: Adelphi is seeking experienced Anesthesiologists to provide services at an academic medical facility in Iowa City, Iowa. The ideal candidates will work in a collaborative environment, providing high-quality anesthesia care across multiple clinical areas while ensuring adherence to institutional protocols, patient safety standards, and medical regulations.

Requirements:

• MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent
• Successful completion of an approved residency training program in Anesthesiology
• Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or in the certification process
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Iowa
• Expertise in general anesthesia or subspecialty areas such as ambulatory, cardiovascular/thoracic, neurosurgical, obstetrical, pediatric, regional, and transplant anesthesia.


Responsibilities:


• Provide anesthesia services across multiple clinical areas, including ambulatory, cardiovascular/thoracic, obstetrical, neurosurgical, pediatric, regional, and transplant anesthesia
• Independently manage anesthesia care and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations
• Supervise and mentor medical trainees, including residents and SRNAs
• Collaborate with CRNAs and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Perform invasive procedures, including ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and line placements
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and HIPAA regulations
• Participate in academic activities, including teaching and clinical research (preferred)
