Job Summary

We're a fast-growing, multi-state mortgage lender seeking a Mortgage Underwriting Manager with experience across all loan types. Responsibilities

• Manage a team of underwriters for FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Jumbo, and portfolio products


• Ensure underwriting decisions comply with all investor and agency guidelines


• Provide credit decisions on escalated and complex loan files


• Mentor, train, and develop underwriters


• Monitor pipeline and turn times to ensure SLA performance


• Coordinate with Processing, Closing, and Secondary teams


• Lead underwriting initiatives as we scale into new markets


• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing guidelines

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience


• DE (FHA) and SAR (VA) certifications preferred


• 3+ years of underwriting team leadership experience


• Deep knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, Ginnie Mae, and non-agency guidelines


• Proficiency with Encompass a plus


• Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
