Position: Agronomy Applicator - Farm Equipment Operator |
Description: Glacial Plains Cooperative is hiring an Agronomy Applicator Farm Equipment Operator to join our team in Benson, MN (about 80 miles southwest of St. Cloud). In this role you will be operating farm equipment and responsible for the accurate and safe application of agricultural products such as fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other crop protection inputs. We are a respected local ag-service cooperative in west-central Minnesota, with divisions in agriculture, energy, feed, retail, and maintenance. With approximately 110 full- and part-time employees, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our patrons and supporting the strength and growth of our farming communities. What you will be doing: - Operate agriculture equipment and machinery to apply crop inputs across farm fields
- Ensure proper handling, mixing, and application of chemical products in compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Utilize GPS and precision agriculture systems for efficient field coverage
- Maintain, clean, and perform basic repairs on applicator machinery and related equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members and patrons to ensure timely service and support
- Follow all cooperative policies and procedures for product application and customer service
This job is for you if you have: - Previous experience operating farm machinery or agriculture equipment
- Knowledge of agricultural chemicals and chemical safety standards
- Familiarity with GPS systems and precision ag technology
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to team collaboration
- Good communication skills and dedication to customer service
