Position Overview:

We have an immediate need for a locum Anesthesiology Physician to provide interventional procedures for our veteran population at the VA Medical Center in Columbia, MO. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in veterans lives while experiencing the unique experience of America s Heartland.

• Conduct pre-operative risk assessments and physical exams


• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures


• Perform IVs, arterial/central line placements, and monitoring device setups


• Provide care in the OR, PACU, GI/bronchoscopy suites, and bedside as needed


• Support post-op care, including ventilator and pain management


• Participate in the pre-op assessment program


• Collaborate with CRNAs, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams


• Complete administrative duties (e.g., CME, committee work, FPPE/OPPEs)


• Maintain an active medical license and perform other assigned duties

Must have completed a residency in anesthesiology and be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).

Credentialling and onboarding takes approximately 4-6 weeks.

Hours & Schedule:

• Monday through Friday 8:00am 4:30pm (excluding federal holidays).

Items Required for Submission:

• Current CV without any gaps over 30 days since completion of medical school- written explanations are accepted

• One active, unrestricted Medical License in any state


• Current DEA


• BLS- American Heart Association (AHA) required
