Description: Arc Health is seeking experienced, flexible, and independent Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) for recurring assignments in remote settings. Providers must be comfortable practicing at the top of their license with limited support and high autonomy. Assignments are typically 4-6 weeks in duration, multiple times per year. Key Responsibilities
Provide routine and emergency ambulatory care in outpatient settings
Manage care independently, including:
Evaluation and treatment of adults and children
Chronic disease management and preventive services
Emergency stabilization (e.g., CPR, IVs, airway management, shock)
Treatment of minor trauma (e.g., suturing, casting)
Family planning and counseling
Routine physical exams
Perform and interpret basic labs and imaging (e.g., chest/extremity X-rays)
Dispense medications per standing orders or physician direction
Document accurately in Cerner EHR or Patient Care Information System
Participate in clinic quality assurance activities
Use diagnostic tools (ophthalmoscope, otoscope, EKG, etc.)
Communicate with off-site providers and support staff as needed
Participate in shared call and after-hours support
Schedule
4-6 week assignments, multiple times per year
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Shared on-call coverage
Travel and housing provided
Qualifications
Active Family Nurse Practitioner licensure (Alaska license preferred, not required to start)
Significant recent experience in family medicine, urgent care, and emergency care
Comfortable working independently in remote or solo-staffed settings
Ability to manage care autonomously and determine when referral is needed
Current BLS and ACLS required
CALS and Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certifications preferred but not required
Proficient in documentation and clinical judgment
Able to work in environments with limited internet or cell connectivity
