Overview:
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for locum coverage in Illinois. This role offers a flexible schedule with a minimum of 2 weeks per month and the potential for full-time work. Providers will support both inpatient and outpatient GI services, focusing heavily on procedural care in a low-volume hospital environment.
Assignment Details:
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8 9 hour days
Call: Weeknight overnight call required during assignment blocks
Procedures: 4 days/week in GI lab (primarily colonoscopies, EGDs); 1 day/week in clinic
Volumes:
- GI Lab: procedures/day
- Clinic: 20 patients/day
- Inpatient census is low (49-bed facility); rounding as needed
Call Volume: 4 average admissions per night on call
Support: Full-time GI APP on site
Patient Population: Adults only
Requirements:
- Board Certified/Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Illinois medical license
- DEA, ACLS, BLS, and IL CSR
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Proficiency with GI bleeds, EGDs, and routine colonoscopies
