Description: Job Description: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Certified
Location: Whidbey Island, WA
Position: Full-Time, Walk-In Clinic
Patient Population: Low to moderate income, all ages, higher-than-average acuity
Supervisor: Medical Director (off-site supervision)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide acute and routine medical care in a walk-in clinic setting for patients of all ages.
- Manage higher acuity cases with a focus on both urgent and primary care needs.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic testing.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute conditions and follow-up care for chronic conditions.
Prescribe medications and treatments based on patient needs and evidence-based guidelines.
Clinical independence: Must be able to work with minimal supervision, as the medical director may be off-site.
- Provide patient education on wellness, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
Document all patient interactions accurately and timely using the facility s EMR system.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
For Nurse Practitioners:
- Valid RN license to practice in Washington State.
Master s Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a nationally recognized NP certification program approved by the Washington State Nursing Commission.
For Physician Assistants:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the following accreditation organizations:
- Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA)
National Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in primary care or a similar clinical setting preferred.
ACLS certification is required.
Skills & Experience:
Primary Care Experience: At least three years of experience in a primary care or walk-in clinic setting preferred.
Clinical Competence: Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients, with a high level of clinical judgment.
Patient-Centered Care: Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds, particularly low to moderate-income populations.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to work with physicians, medical staff, and support personnel.
Critical Thinking: Ability to handle higher acuity cases and make clinical decisions in a fast-paced, walk-in clinic environment.

Certifications:
