PCOM South Georgia was founded in 2019 joining PCOM and PCOM Georgia in providing high-quality hands-on training in osteopathic medicine. PCOM South Georgia is a 75,000 square foot, state of the art facility located in Colquitt County with the mission to meet the long-term healthcare needs of the region. PCOM is a national leader in osteopathic medical training.
Position Summary:
PCOM South Georgia is seeking a qualified individual to educate Osteopathic medical students in Pathology at the Associate or Professor level. PCOM is committed to preparing professionals for the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our dynamic team of educators.
Faculty members develop meaningful relationships with students for academic, career, and personal advising, and all faculty contribute to the PCOM s mission through active participation on committees and other activities of the institution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Educate medical students in pathology across a two-year preclinical curriculum.
- Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for osteopathic students.
- Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.
- Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- A terminal degree in Pathology is required, e.g. DO, MD.
- Five (Associate Professor) to ten (Professor) years of teaching experience are required, preferably in a medical school and/or a clinical setting.
- Experience in teaching pathology is required.
- Experience in active learning is preferred.
- Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred.
- Open to non-traditional research.
