Description: Job Title: Psychiatric Physician Location: Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center Address: 1030 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38120 Schedule: Full-Time On-Site On-Call Requirements Position Overview: JR Enterprise is hiring a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatric Physician to support the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. This role involves providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to veterans. The selected candidate will work closely with VA mental health staff and provide after-hours on-call support as part of a dedicated care team. Work Hours: Clinic Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (Central Time) On-Call Hours: Weekdays: 4:30 PM 8:00 AM Weekends: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Off-Hours Coverage: Required for evenings, weekends, and holidays. On-call physicians must be available for phone consultations during all non-clinic hours. Key Responsibilities: Inpatient Care: Admit and diagnose patients Develop and manage individualized treatment plans Perform timely treatment interventions Discharge or transfer patients as appropriate Maintain thorough and accurate medical record documentation Collaborate with VA-employed mental health staff Outpatient Care: Evaluate and treat new patient referrals with complete medical records Care for severely mentally ill patients Conduct post-discharge follow-ups Complete e-consults and clinical evaluations Ensure patients are seen within 30 days of referral Qualifications: License: Must hold a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia. Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Certifications: Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or equivalent). Experience in VA or similar settings is preferred. Additional Requirements: All continuing medical education (CME) must be kept up to date. Must be comfortable working in both independent and collaborative environments. Excellent documentation and communication skills are essential. Must provide reliable off-hours coverage and be responsive to clinical consultations.
