We're seeking a dynamic Safety Director to build, lead, and manage a comprehensive safety program that supports our growing operations and aligns with our culture of accountability and care.
Position Summary:
The Safety Director will develop and implement a robust safety program tailored to the HVAC and construction environments. This leadership role requires a hands-on, proactive individual who can inspire safe practices across all levels of the organization. You will work closely with executive leadership, project managers, and field crews to ensure full compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards, while promoting a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, launch, and manage a comprehensive safety program, policies, and procedures tailored to HVAC job sites.
- Conduct routine safety audits and inspections; identify risks and corrective actions.
- Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses and recommend preventive measures.
- Provide new hire safety orientations and ongoing training across departments.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documents.
- Monitor safety performance and deliver actionable insights for improvement.
- Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure job site safety adherence.
- Keep current with OSHA and other industry regulations; update company policies as needed.
- Represent the company during regulatory inspections or safety-related inquiries.
- Support bids and project proposals by providing relevant safety documentation and planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST, or equivalent safety certification (strongly preferred).
- 5+ years of safety management experience in HVAC, construction, or industrial settings.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA standards and risk mitigation strategies in HVAC environments.
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive cultural change, and implement scalable safety initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and safety management platforms).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to inspect field operations including walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in variable job site conditions including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments.
