Position Summary:
The Training and Credentialing Specialist is a full-time, exempt position responsible for ensuring that all EMT personnel, including drivers and support staff, are adequately trained and credentialed in compliance with state regulations, contractual obligations and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of the NEMT industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to develop and implement comprehensive training programs.
Essential Functions:
Training Program Development and Implementation:
- Design and develop training programs tailored to the specific needs of NEMT personnel, including onboarding, safety protocols, customer service, and vehicle operation.
- Conduct training sessions using various instructional methods like workshops, e-learning, and hands-on exercises.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback, and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Credentialing and Compliance:
- Manage the credentialing process for all NEMT staff, ensuring compliance with Missouri state regulations and company standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of employee credentials, certifications, and training records.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to stay informed about changes in credentialing requirements and ensure timely updates to company processes.
Continuous Improvement and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular audits of employee credentials and training records to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Identify areas for improvement in training and credentialing processes and recommend actionable solutions.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to keep training content relevant and effective.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Human Resources team to coordinate onboarding and training schedules for new hires.
- Liaise with external training providers, vendors, brokers and credentialing agencies when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding training progress and credentialing status of employees.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on training and credentialing activities, highlighting key metrics and areas of concern.
- Ensure all training materials and credentialing documents are accurately maintained and accessible for audits.

Requirements: Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Four-year degree in organizational development, indusstrial psycology, safety, compliance, transportation management, or a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in safety, compliance, or training roles, preferably in the transportation or healthcare industries.
- Experience in non-emergency medical transportation or a related field is a strong plus.
Abilities and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering training and coaching staff.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with experience in maintaining compliance documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with transportation management software.
- Safety-related certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, DOT Certification, OSHA) are preferred.
- ASTD certification and understanding of adult learning theory preferred.
Normal Working Conditions:
This position involves a combination of office and field work, including conducting training sessions, vehicle inspections, and ride-alongs. The Training, and Credentialing Specialist may need to travel between company locations and work flexible hours as needed to meet operational and training needs.
