Position Overview:


Our client is urgently seeking an experienced and certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide inpatient care in our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will be adept at managing critically ill neonates, possess strong procedural skills, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Clinical Care:


    • Provide comprehensive care to neonates in the Level III NICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical conditions.

    • Perform advanced procedures such as intubations, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and central line placements .

    • Attend high-risk deliveries and participate in neonatal resuscitations as part of a multidisciplinary team .

    • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans .



  • Team Collaboration:


    • Work alongside advanced practice providers, pediatric residents, neonatal-perinatal fellows, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes .

    • Participate in division meetings, committees, and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and quality .



  • Family Support and Education:


    • Educate and support families regarding their infant's condition, treatment plans, and care needs .

    • Facilitate caregiver-infant bonding and provide guidance on neonatal care practices .



Qualifications:




  • Licensure and Certification:


    • Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.

    • Board Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) or equivalent.

    • Current Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration (CDS) and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration.



  • Experience:


    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU setting preferred.

    • Proficiency in neonatal procedures and management of critically ill newborns.



  • Skills:


    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

    • Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.



Additional Information:




  • Patient Load: Approximately 10-15 patients per Advanced Practice Provider.


  • Schedule: Variable shifts; no on-call duties.


  • Credentialing: Expedited credentialing process available for providers working less than 30 days in a year.
