Description: Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Care
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and review of systems.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions under physician supervision.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as lab work, imaging, and EKGs.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
Perform in-office procedures as authorized (e.g., wound care, and suture removal).
Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state laws and supervising physician protocols.
Patient Education and Communication
Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and preventative health strategies.
Provide counseling on lifestyle changes, chronic disease management, and medication adherence.
Serve as a point of contact for patient concerns, following up with patients according to treatment plans, test results, referrals, and ongoing care.
Care Coordination
Coordinate referrals to specialists, imaging centers, and other services as needed.
Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control policies.
Complete billing and coding documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Practice Support
Professional Development
Stay current with medical knowledge, guidelines, and licensure requirements.
Participate in relevant professional organizations and CME (Continuing Medical Education) activities.
