Position: Dairy Feed Manager |
Description: Welcome to Donnan Farms Inc. We are hiring a full-time Dairy Feed Manager for our dairy farm in Piffard, NY. In this role you will be responsible for feed accuracy of delivery, loading, and timing. We have the ability and expectation to train and develop the successful candidate to a level of exceptional performance. This position works closely with the owners and other members of the management team. Our team leaders are ambitious and motivated with a 'can do' attitude, take pride in their work and strive for excellence daily.
Donnan Farms Inc. has a long history of excellent herd performance and aims to be environmentally responsible, kind to the animals under our care, regarded as a preferred employer by our staff and a good neighbor by our community. We have a 100+ year reputation for the highest quality milk and dairy products. We have approximately 3500 milking cows that are milked three times a day in our milk parlor. We strive for our dairy cattle to achieve exceptionally high milk solids production.
We offer a competitive hourly wage with 55-65 hours per week ( 10 hour shift, 6 days a week, some holidays ) along with accuracy and maintenance bonus and paid vacation.
Qualifications:
- The position is physical, and the candidate must be able to lift at least 50lbs, and be comfortable walking, crouching, bending.
- Reliable transportation is REQUIRED to be considered for the position.
- Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work if necessary (Required).
- Individuals must be detail orientated, team player, dependable, goal orientated and want to strive for success.

Responsibilities:
- Managing and Coordinating bunk faces
- Managing a team of two to three people
- Machine and Equipment maintenance
- Follow procedures for TMR, mixing time, quality and ordering of ingredients
- Operating mixer tractor with wagon, defacer and loader
- Use feed software and communication via email
- Maintaining feed bunk area cleanliness
- Twice weekly dry matter checks and feed refusal management
- Commodity inventory management with farm s nutritionist
Requirements:
- English preferred with some Spanish
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to manage a team of employees
- Experience Operating a Loader, mixer tractors with wagons
- Experience backing up with large trailers preferred
