Position: Director of Anchored Kids (Nursery - 5th grade)


Description:


We seek a passionate, Jesus-loving Anchored Kids Director to lead our vibrant children's ministry! (Nursery - 5th grade)


Anchored Kids is a place where children learn, play, create, pray, and grow in faith - and the fun doesn't stop on Sunday mornings! We're seeking a candidate who can grow, lead, and mobilize a team, loves God and people, and has a track record of spiritual growth. Responsibilities of the Position



Program Development:




  • Plan and implement comprehensive ministry programs that cater to the spiritual growth of all children from nursery through 5th grade, including, but not limited to, Sunday morning Anchored KIDS ministry, the scope and sequence of teaching and implementation, scripture memorization at age-appropriate levels, and the development of age-appropriate spiritual disciplines.




    Event Coordination:



    • Organize and coordinate church events specifically designed for families, such as retreats, workshops, and community service projects.

    • Family Support Initiatives: Create and support initiatives that enhance family engagement and spiritual growth.

    • Develop outreach programs that engage children in serving and learning about their community.






Volunteer Engagement:



  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers who work with Anchored Kids + Nurser.y




Pastoral Care:



  • Provide support and guidance to children and their families facing spiritual or emotional challenges.




Safety and Compliance:



  • Ensure all activities and persons serving with Anchored Kids comply with St. Paul's Ocean Grove Church's Safe Sanctuaries policies.




Spiritual Leadership:



  • Model a Christ-centered lifestyle by integrating Christian values into every aspect of the worship ministry and encouraging team members to grow in their faith.

    • Lead the Anchored Kids team in prayer and spiritual reflection, fostering a sense of community and purpose.






Administration and Evaluation:




  • Manage the Anchored Kids budget to ensure responsible stewardship of resources.



    • Maintain accurate records of team rosters, attendance, and contact information.

    • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of Anchored Kids ministry programming and adjust as needed.






Communication and Promotion:



  • Utilize various communication channels, including social media and church announcements, to promote contemporary worship services and events in conjunction with our Communications and Event Coordinator.

  • Maintain regular contact with team members to keep them informed and engaged.




Schedule:



  • This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week. Regular hours include Sunday mornings, attendance at regularly scheduled staff meetings, and bi-monthly Church Leadership meetings.




Qualifications:



  • Experience serving in children's ministry with a heart to see young lives transformed by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

  • Degree or coursework in Christian Education, Ministry, or a related field.

  • Experience using Planning Center, Canva, Google Workspace, or similar tools.


  • Relational Skills: Compassionate, communicative, and able to build community within the Anchored Kids Team and congregation.


  • Committed Christian Faith: Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to continue spiritual growth.


  • Leadership & Teamwork: Experience leading a team and collaborating with church staff.



  • Worship Planning Experience: Ability to craft meaningful, Christ-centered kids and family ministry experiences that align with scripture





  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, as required by applicable law.
