Here is more information: The ICU RN provides patient care using the nursing process and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive care, document patient progress, and facilitate discharge with referrals and education.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and internal staff.
- Participate in unit goals through education, in-services, and quality initiatives.
- Provide care including IV management, pain control, ventilator support, cardiac monitoring, and more.
- Assist in procedures (e.g., thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement).
- Collaborate with support services like respiratory therapy, dietitians, and pharmacy.
