Description: Position Title: Worship Leader
Primary Objective (Basic Purpose):
To lead and coordinate a multi-faceted worship ministry to help our congregation fulfill our mission to Make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly .
Primary Duties (What activities are done to accomplish the objective):
- Live a life in agreement with the Grace Church Leadership Covenant.
- Along with the Lead Pastor, plan worship experiences that include both traditional hymns and contemporary worshp music.
- Lead and coordinate worship for weekly services and special events (i.e. Christmas Eve Services, Holy Week services, etc.).
- Recruit, develop, and deploy musicians for all worship services.
- Lead, direct, and coach our praise teams as they plan and deliver worship for their respective services.
- Consult and provide expertise, as requested, for worship technology.
- Attend and participate in weekly Staff Meetings of the Grace Church Staff.
- Attend regular worship services at Grace Church, as well as special services such as Holy Week and Christmas Eve Services.
Required Education and Experience:
- Committed Christian with the same basic philosophy of ministry and theology as Grace Church.
- A passion for personal worship and for leading worship in a church.
- Demonstrated ability in leading praise/worship teams.
- Skilled in playing a musical instrument, preferably guitar or piano.
- Familiarity with sound/multi-media equipment and ability to leverage it to enhance the worship experience.
- Strong people skills and a team player.
- A servant's heart for ministry and a deep desire to see people come to Christ and grow in their faith.
- Ability to disciple/mentor worship servants.
- Ability to conduct all financial, personal and church matters with confidentiality.
Accountability:
- Directly accountable to the Lead Pastor for supervision.
- Salary will be reviewed annually by the Leadership Team and submitted as part of the personnel section of the church budget for adoption.
- Any grievances or concerns should be shared with the Lead Pastor.
Classification:
- This is a half-time, salaried position, with an expectation of 20 hours per week.
