Shifts are as following: Three 12 hour shifts per week No weekend or holiday commitment Shift times are 6:am - 6pm
The Nursing Assistant (NA) assists nursing personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients in the outpatient setting. Performs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Assist with clinical duties as delegated within roles and responsibilities, personalized training and competency, and needs of specific outpatient setting. Assists with taking vital signs. Maintains stock of medical supplies needed for nurse or physician. Complies with all patient duties assigned. The Nursing Assistant serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. Administer delegated tasks and treatments. Record vital statistics and other basic health information. Provide assistance with basic health care needs including rooming the patients, daily living activities; emotional and spiritual needs. Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed. Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare. Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy. Clean patient areas or treatment rooms.
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum of six months' experience preferred. Experience in a clinic setting preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.
