Job Summary:


The Technical Writer - RFP Response Specialist will be responsible for producing high-quality responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and other procurement-related documents. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and engineering, to develop proposals that effectively communicate Neighborly Software's capabilities and value proposition to potential clients. The successful candidate will have a strong technical writing background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.




Responsibilities:



  • Develop high-quality responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other procurement-related documents.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and engineering, to gather information and ensure proposal content is accurate, complete, and compelling.

  • Manage the proposal process from start to finish, including document preparation, compliance checking, and review cycles.

  • Ensure that all proposal content is compliant with RFP requirements and adheres to Neighborly Software's brand and messaging guidelines.

  • Maintain and update proposal content library, including boilerplate content, case studies, and other relevant materials.

  • Monitor industry trends and best practices related to proposal development, and make recommendations for improvements to the proposal process.

  • Assist with other writing projects as needed, such as customer case studies, white papers, and other marketing materials.




Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, communications, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, proposal development, or related field.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, error-free documents under tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive content for a variety of audiences.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and RFP requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passion for Neighborly Software's mission to improve outcomes in the public sector through technology.




Additional Qualifications:



  • Experience responding to RFPs, RFIs, and other procurement-related documents.

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and terminology.

  • Knowledge of the public sector and the challenges facing local governments and community organizations.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
