Description: COMMUNICATIONS STUDENT ASSISTANT SPECIALIST (SPRING 2023) Position Availability: ASAP Position Title: Communications Student Assistant Specialist Location: New York City Position Type: Student Department: Schools of Public Engagement / Executive Dean's Office The Schools of Public Engagement - which includes graduate programs in policy, media studies, creative writing, international affairs, and a Bachelor's programs for transfer and adult students - is seeking a Communications Student Assistant Specialist to support the Senior Director of Communications and Engagement within the Executive Dean's Office. Responsibilities: To help raise the visibility of SPE's academic programs, faculty, students and alumni, as well as its centers, labs and institutes, the Communications Student Assistant Specialist will assist the Senior Director with a range of communications activities that include but are not limited to the following areas: Draft communications materials such as newsletter copy, website copy, blog posts, reports and summaries, email correspondence, alumni spotlights and faculty interviews. Create marketing and promotional materials such as flyers, informational one-sheets, and slide presentations. Conduct research on potential partners and media outlets. Manage social media accounts, including drafting social media posts and reviewing social media analytics. Assist with event planning and event staffing. Manage blast emails and email mailing lists. Assist with maintaining faculty bios and expert profiles. Schedule meetings. Hourly Rate: $18-21 Work Mode: The student assistant specialist is expected to work in a hybrid mode, both on campus and remotely. Some weeks may require additional campus presence. This position is open to both Federal Work Study and non-Federal Work Study students. Work hours: 15-20 hours/week.
