Sensitive Position No Job Description Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The primary responsibilities are teaching introductory and advanced accounting concepts, advising accounting and business administration students and connect students with the accounting/business community. Faculty hired in this position will be required to be able to teach transfer and non-transfer accounting courses. Faculty loads are scheduled on an average load of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester. Office hours, advising and collateral duty assignments are required. Faculty member is required to contribute to curriculum and course development. Teaching schedules may include day and evening classes, online or in-person classes, dual enrollment classes with local high schools, and/or multiple campus assignments. Opportunities for summer teaching will be based on student interest. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting or the Master's degree in any field with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Accounting. A minimum of two (2) years of related work experience and/or college level teaching experience. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to effectively use instructional technologies with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to teach in different modalities including online (asynchronous and synchronous) and in-person. Demonstrated proven teaching pedagogy to meet the needs of and providing instruction to multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion. Preference will be given to applicants holding professional designations (CPA, CISA, CIA) or having had experience with a national and/or large regional accounting firm. Experience with and/or knowledgeable of data analytics. Ability to teaching one or more college-level Accounting courses such as Principles of Accounting, Intermediate Accounting, Auditing and Federal Taxation, and Cost Accounting. Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, distance-learning and/or course development. A sound understanding of the subject matter. Previous teaching experience in a community college setting is preferred.
