Position: Head of Media Services

Description: Vanguard's core purpose is to take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success. We are seeking a Head of Media Services to lead a dynamic team of professionals who have a special responsibility to create digital media, video, and audio-visual communications that bring Vanguard's brand and purpose to life. The Head of Media Services is Vanguard's principal expert for multimedia strategies and production management. This leader and their team have the unique opportunity to work with executives across Vanguard businesses throughout the production lifecycle. They should be self-directed, passionate about multimedia, and experienced managing people, portfolios, and technical / financial resources. Advancements in video and audio present a multitude of opportunities for Media Services to continuously add value to Vanguard. Building strategies that interconnect evolving technology with shifting consumer expectations will be core elements of this role in the future. Media Services is Vanguard's strategic digital media, video, and audio-visual partner organization. The team creates multimedia content that engage, inform, and inspire audiences across digital channels. The work they produce serves to strengthen Vanguard marketing and business strategies. Key Responsibilities: We seek a purpose-driven leader with experience in multimedia production or marketing, a passion for leading and developing people, and an understanding of Vanguard's brand and culture. As the Head of Media Services, you will: Inspire and lead a world-class, award-winning team, and successfully manage outside agencies and suppliers Conceptualize and develop game-changing concepts and messages while minimizing production expenses and strengthening employee talents Galvanize senior leaders, stakeholders, and Media Services around a clear vision and priorities Build and maintain strategic relationships across marketing and communication teams, Vanguard divisions, and external partners Manage the end-to-end creative process and enable capabilities that include video production/editing, photography, brand and identity design, and social and digital content creation Take steps to mitigate risk while meeting compliance and legal requirements Skills and Experience: Minimum 8 years work experience, with 5 years of creative direction in an agency or corporate setting Strong background and passion for leading and developing people Ability to interface with stakeholders and leaders to ensure requirements and priorities are understood Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships across departments, divisions, and partners Experience managing complex projects throughout creative development lifecycles Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred Special Factor Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position. Future of Work During the pandemic, we transitioned to a work from home model for the majority of our crew and we continue to interview, hire, and on-board future crew remotely. As we have developed the path forward, we have taken a thoughtful approach that both maximizes the advantages of working remotely and the many benefits of coming together and collaborating in a shared workspace. We believe that in-person interactions among our crew are important for preserving our unique culture and advantageous for the personal development of our crew. When our Crew return to the office, many will work in our hybrid model. A smaller proportion of our crew will operate in the Work from Home work model (for example, field sales crew); or in the Work from Office model (for example, portfolio managers).
