Position: Solar Project Manager

Description: Solar Development Project Manager required for an established renewable energy developer's Edinburgh office with remote or flexible working.

Reporting to the Development Director, you would manage the development of utility scale solar PV projects from initial site assessment throughout development including planning and grid connection. You would also assist with the identification and acquisition of new wind and solar sites. Grid knowledge would be highly beneficial.

Salary bracket: 35k-55k negotiable, depending on experience.

The main duties of the role fall within:

  • Site identification and acquisition including aspects such as managing the negotiation of lease agreements, heads of terms, architecture & engineering contracts and managing teams involved in GIS mapping.

  • Project development & consenting including the managing the development through feasibility and consenting inclusive of pre-planning, surveys, planning applications & appeals and managing the preparation of environmental statements and relevant supporting documents and community/stakeholder liaison.

  • Management & Planning including working with senior management to set development strategies for investment, managing consultants and subcontractors and progress reports against KPIs, budget etc.

    Effective time management to work on multiple projects whilst forging strong internal and external relationships is essential for the role. Additionally, continual involvement in the review of third-party reports, drawings, specifications and supporting the consultancy team when and as required.

    Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in engineering or similar discipline

  • Experience managing renewable projects through feasibility, consenting and construction

  • Demonstrable experience developing large scale solar or renewable projects

  • Project management qualifications beneficial

  • Driving license
