Position: Senior Ecologist

Description: A leading international multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is looking for a Senior Ecologist to join a friendly, ambitious and diverse team. You will be part of the Ecosystem Solutions team includes ecologists, Eco-toxicologists and environmental economists delivering work in support of sustainable development and biodiversity net gain.

Qualifications & Experience:

As a Senior Ecologist, you should have experience in the following

  • Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management member

  • Appropriate BSc or equivalent qualification (MSc in a relevant discipline is desirable)

  • Experience in survey, assessment and mitigation for one or more species group (preference for birds, bats or botany)

  • Excellent report writing skills, demonstrable experience of project management, delivering on time and to budget and some experience in a client facing capacity,

  • Self-motivated, organised and able to prioritise own and others workload and work independently

    Role & Company:

    Your day to day responsibilities will be;

  • Managing small to medium scale projects with input on large scale projects with the support of the ecology lead

  • Planning and undertaking ecological surveys, producing high quality reports including habitat and species surveys

  • Liaising with ecological regulators and planning authorities, clients, partner organisations and sub-consultants

  • Delivering ecological mitigation design

  • Delivering technical work on complex projects

  • Fee proposal preparation
