Would you like to work for a privately-owned Food business with a successful track record in the supply and distribution of best-in-class food products? Having recently gone through a re-organisation, the business has created a new Permanent role for a QA Assistant
Working day Monday to Friday (no evenings or weekends) the QA Assistant will take on a wide range of Quality and Technical duties, including direct contact with customers and raw material suppliers. They will maintain and improve Technical/QA systems and work as part of a small but cohesive Quality team. A large part of the role will involve Production quality related work, release of Raw Materials and Finished Products, Micro/Allergen/Chemical testing, investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
Other duties include: Supplying customers with technical information such as Certificates of Conformance (CoC's), Certificates of Analysis (CoA's), shelf-life extension and testing requirements and producing customer reports. The Quality Assistant will co-ordinate the non-conformance system, be involved in the supplier approval process, liaise with suppliers and customers with respect to Quality issues, and organise the Product Testing and Product Assessment schedule.
There will be a further requirement to maintain the testing database and input data for raw materials and packaging, and assess quality of new products both pre and post launch as part of the NPD Process. As the Quality Assistant will have direct contact with both Customers and Suppliers excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected. The Quality Assistant will carryout equipment calibration audits and record calibration results and conduct Finished Product audits to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
We seek an individual who is well organised, has good attention to detail and is competent at using Databases and MS Excel. Experience of Food Manufacturing systems is also expected, as is a good understanding of the legislation around legal and compliant food production. As some training can be provided, we may consider a recent Graduate with a Food related degree. Ref 3204a
This role is a Permanent position paying a Salary of circa ss25k-ss26k pa + 25 days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Based in Somerset this role is easily commutable from: Somerset, Yeovil, Wells, Chard, Taunton, Shepton Mallet, Warminster, From, Yetminster.
