About our Client

A leading software development agency that specialises in the development of bespoke digital applications for wide a range of clients.

In 2017 they formed a voice studio which creates interactive experiences and voice design for smart speakers and voice-enabled devices. Began by creating voice experiences for Amazon Alexa.

The Role - Lead Developer

Is an established and proven Lead Developer who can manage our team of inhouse web developers creating and supporting bespoke applications for our clients. From SaaS products, bespoke systems, apps, websites, and voice skills - we build them all and we are looking for someone to manage the development team from concept to release, producing exceptional user experiences.

What You'll Be Doing

60% code and code reviews, 20% team leadership, 20% customer communication

Provide leadership, task management and guidance across the team

Mentoring and coaching other developers

Resource planning and hiring

Implement methodologies and processes to help the team maximise efficiency

Introduce testing principles and processes

Customer liaison and advising customers on improvements for their systems built by Vocala

Research new tech and tools to use for new builds

Skills required

Personal skills:

Autonomy to own the development team (with support from CTO)

Proactive self-starting attitude, able to get on with the job.

Confidence to work directly with the business founders/owners and clients.

Problem solving and willing to learn new technologies or skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
