Business Development Manager - Landscaping
Our Client is soft landscaping company with clients across the South Coast and up into the Thames Valley. business is growing, and they need a skilled Business Development Manager to acquire and manage new client relationships and expand our territory. The candidate will need experience and knowledge of the property development sector, specifically the national new home developers, and extensive knowledge of B2B sales, as well as skills related to strategic analysis and marketing.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with our clients (mainly Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers who you will already hold relationships with), negotiating contracts and closing soft landscaping contracts. We will depend on you to give input into our marketing strategy and work with the Directors to create and develop a strategic business development plan.
Identify potential clients in the target areas and approach relevant to people to get us on the tender list for soft landscaping
Achieve quarterly new business targets within the set margins and geographical areas
Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
Partner with Tender Manager to maximise relationships and opportunities across the companies area of business
Negotiate tenders and contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders
Maintain Customer Account records and plans on the companies chosen software system
Collaborate with production teams to ensure contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed
Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and remain up-to-date on industry news
Horticultural background would be an advantage but previous Sales or Business Development experience in the new home development sector is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and ability to use CRM and tender software including Blue Beam
Advanced understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job
Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose equipment-based solutions for clients
Up to ss35K depending on experience. OTE ss50K plus over target annual bonus for the right person. Company Car
