This is an exciting opportunity with a leading distributed energy and private networks business who finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for corporate customers.
The company design, install, monitor, maintain and optimise Building Energy Management Systems as well as developing Energy Control solutions for smart places - Cities, Campuses and Industrial buildings.
The role and key responsibilities
The company's Digital Services team is currently expanding its portfolio of services by moving into Energy-as-a-Service.
They're targeting rapid growth in this part of the business, and beginning a transformation process focusing on local, smart energy solutions that encompass energy assets such as generation and storage, load and control systems such as Virtual Power Plants (VPP) and smart grid (generation, storage and load are automatically controlled by a platform for trading/balancing purposes).
The Business Development Manager (BDM) role is an opportunity to position the company as a provider of choice in this field. Company's new is a combined Virtual Power Plant and Smart Grid platform that includes aggregation, trading and balancing capabilities that will form a core part of their Energy-as-a-Service proposition.
You'll be responsible for leading the business development of this proposition with an initial focus on securing contracts for flexibility trading (VPP) services with assets owners and developers across the UK.
The role will work closely with other business development resources driving wider energy system opportunities, liaising with EPM (the trading team) and Project Development Managers (PDM's) who develop the specific projects that underpins these.
The BDM would generate initial flexibility trading leads and act as the main client interface throughout any engagement. Ownership of specific opportunities would pass to the PDM's through the proposition/bid phase and the PDMs would lead contract negotiations to contract close and procurement.
To be considered for this role you'll need:
Salary in the range 39,000 - 58,000 + company car/cash allowance + attractive benefits (there might be some flexibility on the salary for the right candidate)
